Echo Chamber

A multi-head tape delay: three read heads at different speeds, a reverse head, DOD Rubberneck-style pitch stretch, and degrading tape artifacts — all running from an SDRAM buffer.

Echo Chamber

Terrarium + Daisy Seed · Mono · SDRAM buffer

Multi-head tape delay with stretch and aging. Three read heads at different speeds (one fixed at the main delay time, two more switchable at 66% and 133% relative), reverse mode on the third head, DOD Rubberneck-style stretch, and degrading tape artifacts.

Knobs

KnobFunction
KNOB 1Feedback (recirculation amount)
KNOB 2Speed (delay time 50 ms – 2 s)
KNOB 3Mix (extra heads blend level)
KNOB 4Wet Level (0× to 2×)
KNOB 5Dry Level (0× to 2×)
KNOB 6Tone (LP filter on feedback path)

Switches

SwitchFunction
SW1Head 2 on/off (66% speed — faster echo layer)
SW2Head 3 on/off (133% speed — slower echo layer)
SW3Head 3 direction (forward / reverse)
SW4FS2 mode selector — determines what the FS2 footswitch does (stretch / age)

Footswitches

SwitchAction
FS1Bypass
FS2 (SW4 = stretch)Pitch drop and rebound — DOD Rubberneck-style: hold = pitch drops smoothly, release = pitch rises back. Lets you "scratch" the delay buffer.
FS2 (SW4 = age)Tape aging — adds dropouts, flutter, and noise to the extra-head signal while held. Sounds like the tape is degrading in real time.
Usage tip: For lush multi-tap echoes, raise Mix (KNOB 3) and switch on Head 2 (SW1) and Head 3 (SW2); flip SW3 to reverse Head 3 for backwards swells. Push Feedback (KNOB 1) toward max for self-oscillation, then roll Tone (KNOB 6) down to keep the runaway repeats dark. Set SW4 to stretch and hold FS2 to bend the buffer's pitch like a tape stop, or set it to age for crumbling, fluttery repeats.

Echo Chamber

WOOF v3 + Daisy Seed · Stereo Ping-Pong · MIDI · Expression

Multi-head tape delay with stereo ping-pong heads — Head 1 panned left, Head 2 right, Head 3 center. Single mono SDRAM buffer keeps feedback structure identical to the Terrarium build; only the output mix is panned.

SW2 — Head 3 & Direction

CenterOff. LeftHead 3 forward. RightHead 3 reverse.

SW3 — FS2 Mode

CenterFS2 inert. LeftStretch. RightAge.

Footswitches

SwitchAction
FS1Bypass (fires on release).

Echo Chamber

Hothouse + Daisy Seed · Mono · 3-position toggles

Multi-head tape delay (3 heads at speed / 66% / 133%) with 144K-sample SDRAM buffer. Stretch and Age effects on FS2. Footswitches reversed from Terrarium.

Knobs

KnobFunction
KNOB 1Feedback (delay recirculation, 0–95%)
KNOB 2Speed (delay time 50 ms – 2 s)
KNOB 3Mix (extra heads blend — 0 = main only, max = all equal)
KNOB 4Wet Level (0–2×)
KNOB 5Dry Level (0–2×)
KNOB 6Tone (feedback LP filter 200 Hz – 12 kHz)

3-Position Toggles

TOGGLE 1 — Head 2 (66% speed)

UpOn — Head 2 plays at 2/3 the main delay time. Middle/DownOff.

TOGGLE 2 — Head 3 (133% speed, direction-switchable)

UpOn, forward. MiddleOff. DownOn, reverse.

TOGGLE 3 — FS2 Mode

UpStretch — DOD Rubberneck-style pitch drop/rebound on FS2 hold. MiddleFS2 inert — pressing the footswitch does nothing. DownAge — dropouts, flutter, and noise on extra heads while FS2 held.

Footswitches (Hothouse convention)

SwitchAction
FS1 (left)Bypass toggle.
FS2 (right)X — Stretch or Age (per TOGGLE 3).
Usage tip: For lush multi-tap echoes, raise Mix (KNOB 3) and bring in Head 2 (TOGGLE 1) and Head 3 (TOGGLE 2); set TOGGLE 2 down to run Head 3 in reverse for backwards swells. Push Feedback (KNOB 1) toward max for self-oscillation and roll Tone (KNOB 6) down to keep the runaway repeats dark. Set TOGGLE 3 to Stretch and hold FS2 (right) to bend the buffer's pitch like a tape stop, or Age for crumbling, fluttery repeats.

DFU

Hold FOOTSWITCH_1 for 2 s to enter the bootloader.
