Great Dane Distorted Reverb

A reverb-first pedal with two independent pitched octave voices, a single Spread knob that fans them across the stereo field, and a continuous distortion stage. Big, lush, stereo, and destructive when you want it to be.

Great Dane Distorted Reverb

Terrarium + Daisy Seed · Stereo

The distorted reverb on Terrarium hardware: two independent pitched octave voices, a single Spread knob, and a continuous distortion stage feeding a lush ReverbSc reverb, on four simple two-position switches. Shimmer reverb, the Tracking octave mode, and the Fuzz distortion flavor are dropped here, but a dedicated Infinite Reverb switch is added. Stereo output preserves the spread.

Signal Chain

Input → Octave A + Octave B (each pitched + spread) + dry mix → Distortion (amount knob, when engaged via FS2) → Reverb (Plate / Hall) → Volume → stereo output.

Knobs

KnobFunction
KNOB 1Volume
KNOB 2Reverb (dry/wet mix; full = 100% wet)
KNOB 3Pitch A (−12 to +12 semitones)
KNOB 4Pitch B (−12 to +12 semitones, independent)
KNOB 5Spread (center = mono; right = A right / B left; left = A left / B right; equal-power)
KNOB 6Distortion (clean → destroyed; flavor set by SW3)

Switches

SwitchFunction
SW1Reverb — off = Plate (tight, bright) / on = Hall (long, warm)
SW2Octave mode — off = Fixed / on = Drift (pitch wanders ±50 cents)
SW3Distortion character — off = Warm OD (soft-clip tanh) / on = Bitcrush (sample-rate + bit reduction). Amount set by KNOB 6.
SW4Infinite Reverb — on = freeze the tail into infinite sustain while still feeding input in; off = tail decays naturally

Footswitches

SwitchAction
FS1Bypass.
FS2Distortion on/off.
FS1+FS2at power-up — DFU bootloader.
Usage tip: set Pitch A to +12 and Pitch B to −12 and turn Spread up to fan them apart for a stacked octave spread, and roll Reverb up on Hall. Flip SW4 (Infinite) to freeze a pad and play over it; stomp FS2 with SW3 on Bitcrush and the Distortion knob up for a crushed reverb wash.

Great Dane Distorted Reverb

WOOF v3 + Daisy Seed · Stereo · MIDI · Expression

A reverb-FIRST pedal built around two independent pitched octave voices, a single Spread knob that fans them across the stereo field, and a continuous distortion stage. Both voices run through a clean granular pitch shifter — anywhere from a sub-octave (−12) through unison to an octave up (+12). One Spread knob fans them apart with equal-power panning: centered they sit mono in the middle, turn right and voice A swings right while B swings left, turn left and they cross over. The blended octaves and dry signal hit an optional distortion stage — its drive set continuously by the Distortion knob, its flavor (warm tube overdrive, heavier fuzz, or full digital bitcrush) picked by SW3 — and then drown in a big stereo ReverbSc reverb with Plate, Hall, and Shimmer characters. Big, lush, stereo, and destructive when you want it to be.

Signal Chain

Input → Octave A (pitched + spread) + Octave B (pitched + spread) + dry signal mix → Distortion (amount knob, when engaged via FS2) → Reverb (Plate / Hall / Shimmer) → Volume → stereo output.

Knobs

KnobFunctionBehavior
KNOB 1VolumeOutput level (0–2×).
KNOB 2ReverbReverb mix. Fully left = dry; fully right = 100% wet wash.
KNOB 3Pitch AOctave voice A pitch — continuous from sub-octave (−12 semitones) through unison (center) to octave up (+12). Clean granular pitch shifter.
KNOB 4Pitch BOctave voice B pitch, same ±12 range, fully independent from A.
KNOB 5SpreadStereo spread of the two voices, equal-power. Center = both mono center; turn right = voice A pans right / voice B pans left; turn left = A left / B right.
KNOB 6DistortionDistortion drive amount: fully left = clean, fully right = destroyed. Scales smoothly within whatever flavor SW3 selects (only sounds when distortion is engaged via FS2).

3-Position Toggles

SW1 — Reverb Character

UpPlate — tight, bright, short-to-medium decay. CenterHall — spacious, warm, long decay. DownShimmer — a pitch-shifted (+12) feedback loop in the reverb tail. Ethereal, crystalline.

SW2 — Octave Mode

UpFixed — Pitch A and B are set by the knobs, static. CenterTracking — knobs set a musical interval (snapped to semitones and glided) so harmonies stay in tune. DownDrift — pitch wanders slowly and randomly (±50 cents) around the knob setting. Detuned and dreamy.

SW3 — Distortion Character

UpWarm — soft-clip tanh overdrive. Gentle, tube-like breakup. CenterFuzz — harder clip, more compressed and aggressive, with a mild mid scoop. DownBitcrush — sample-rate plus bit reduction (toward ~8 kHz / 6-bit at full). Digital destruction.

SW3 picks the flavor; the Distortion knob (KNOB 6) sets how hard it's driven, sweeping smoothly from clean to full within that flavor. The distortion only sounds when engaged with FS2.

DIP Switches

DIPFunction
DIP 1Infinite Reverb — freezes the reverb tail into infinite sustain (feedback to ~100%) while still feeding new input in. Everything you play layers on top. Toggle off and the frozen tail decays naturally.
DIP 2Octave Swap — the two voices randomly swap their pitch and spread side every 2–5 seconds. Unpredictable stereo movement and pitch interplay.
DIP 3Swell Mode — kills the pick attack and fades each note in over ~200 ms (envelope follower → VCA, ~50 ms release). Violin-like swells; with reverb and octaves it turns the guitar into a synth pad.
DIP 4MIDI — a note-on sets Pitch A to the interval between the played note and the guitar's detected pitch; note velocity scales Pitch B's interval.

Footswitches

SwitchAction
FS1Bypass (relay-style true bypass; fires on release).
FS2Distortion on/off.
FS1+FS20.5 s hold — Expression Set Mode.
FS1+FS22 s hold — clear expression mappings.
FS1+FS2at power-up — DFU bootloader.

MIDI

MessageMapping
CC 14–19Knobs 1–6 (with takeover).
CC 20Bypass (≥ 64 = toggle).
CC 21Distortion (≥ 64 = toggle).
Note OnWhen DIP 4 is on — sets Pitch A to the interval vs. the detected guitar pitch; velocity sets Pitch B's interval.

Expression Jack

Defaults unmapped — suggested target: KNOB 2 (Reverb) to foot-swell the wet wash, or a Pitch knob for sweeping octave dives. Assign via FS1+FS2 0.5 s Set Mode.

Usage tip: set Pitch A to +12 and Pitch B to −12, turn Spread fully right to throw them hard apart, Reverb past noon on Hall, and play — a wide stereo octave wash. Flip SW1 to Shimmer and hold a chord for endless crystalline cascades. Kick on DIP 1 (Infinite) to freeze a pad and solo over it, or DIP 3 (Swell) for bowed synth swells. Stomp FS2 with SW3 on Bitcrush and the Distortion knob cranked for a destroyed wall of noise.

Great Dane Distorted Reverb

Hothouse + Daisy Seed · Stereo · 3-position toggles

The distorted reverb on Hothouse hardware: the same two independent pitched octave voices, single Spread knob, continuous distortion stage, and lush ReverbSc reverb (Plate / Hall / Shimmer), with the reverb character, octave mode, and distortion flavor on three 3-position toggles. Stereo output preserves the spread. No DIPs or MIDI (Infinite reverb, Octave Swap, Swell, and MIDI are dropped). Footswitches follow Hothouse convention — FS1 toggles distortion, FS2 bypasses.

Signal Chain

Input → Octave A + Octave B (each pitched + spread) + dry mix → Distortion (amount knob, when engaged via FS1) → Reverb (Plate / Hall / Shimmer) → Volume → stereo output.

Knobs

KnobFunctionBehavior
KNOB 1VolumeOutput level (0–2×).

KNOB 3Pitch AVoice A pitch, −12 to +12 semitones (clean granular shifter).
KNOB 4Pitch BVoice B pitch, independent ±12 semitones.
KNOB 5SpreadStereo spread of both voices, equal-power. Center = mono; right = A right / B left; left = A left / B right.
KNOB 6DistortionDrive amount: clean (left) → destroyed (right), within the flavor TOGGLE 3 selects. Only sounds when engaged via FS1.

3-Position Toggles

TOGGLE 1 — Reverb Character

UpPlate — tight, bright, short-to-medium decay. MiddleHall — spacious, warm, long decay. DownShimmer — pitch-shifted (+12) feedback in the tail.

TOGGLE 2 — Octave Mode

UpFixed — knobs set static pitches. MiddleTracking — knobs set a semitone interval, glided and in tune. DownDrift — pitch wanders ±50 cents around the setting.

TOGGLE 3 — Distortion Character

UpWarm OD — soft-clip tanh overdrive. MiddleFuzz — harder clip with a mid scoop. DownBitcrush — sample-rate + bit reduction.

TOGGLE 3 picks the flavor; KNOB 6 sets the drive amount from clean to full.
